History of Hogwarts

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was the first ever magic school in wizarding world history and was created around 990 A.D. in Scotland. The founders of the famous school were none other than the names of the four houses; Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. It was created by these wizards who wanted to teach young wizards how to maintain there magical abilities and guide them through their journey as a witch or wizard. It has been around for over 10 centuries and has guided many to become the greatest magical being they can be. Hogwarts also has much noteable alumni, including Newt Scamander, Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter, and many more.

Fortunately, Hogwarts isn't the only wizarding school there is, there are others hidden all over the world. For example, Ilvermorny in Mount Greylock, Massechussetts is the American school of witchcraft and wizardry. Ilvermory also comes with its own set of famous alumni, with people like Porpentina Goldstein, Queenie Goldstein, and Eulalie Hicks, all of which played great parts in the defeat of Gellert Grindelwald. There are also schools in Japan, Uganda, and Brazil as well. The Durmstrang Institute (Bulgaria) and Bauxbatons Academy of Magic (France) had gone head to head back in 1995 along with Hogwarts in the return of the Triwizard Tournament, which had unfortunately resulted in the death of a Hogwarts student.
